A school is a group of students, teachers, and classes. When you first register a teacher account, you won't have any schools. There are two options for adding a school. First, you can create your own school. You can choose any name you like, as long as it's unique. Second, if you wish to join a school that already exists, you must give your registered email address to someone who is a school "administrator". The main schools page will show the number of teachers, students, and classes in a school, as well as allowing you to leave a school.
A school administrator is a teacher with administrative control over the school. If you create a school, you are automatically an administrator. Administrators can add new teachers to their school, delete teachers from their school, transfer teacher classes to other teachers, and set other teachers as school administrators.
After creating a new school, you must create students. Clicking on a school, then clicking on 'View Students' will show the student page. Here you can add and delete students, as well as set students to a particular grade/year level. Simply enter a list of names, and unique usernames and passwords will be created automatically. This list will be displayed on the screen for you to print out, which can then be cut and given to students. Student names must be unique.
After creating a class, you will be able to view decks and students linked to that class. Clicking on the deck or student button (which shows the number of decks/students linked to the class) will allow you to add or remove decks or students from that class. On the main classes page, you will also be able to view statistics for the class, transfer the class to another teacher, and delete the class.
Here you can add a new deck, download or delete a deck, or click on a deck name to view or edit. When adding a new deck, cards can be imported by copy/pasting from for example a text file, word document, or excel spreadsheet. In addition, there are two special types of decks available in addition to normal decks. One is a deck that requires the student to type an answer via a text box. The other type is called a "collection", and is actually a deck made up of other decks. As an example, you could create decks called "English 101 - Chapter 1", "English 101 - Chapter 2", et cetera. Then create a collection called "English 101" and add each of the chapter decks to it. At the start of each chapter, you can activate the deck inside the collection, which will automatically begin showing cards to the students. This way, instead of having to study multiple decks, the multiple decks are chained together and used as a single, large deck.
You can change your password on the account page.
Logs you out. Accounts are automatically logged out after 1 hour of inactivity.
When a student logs in, they are shown a page that lists their classes, and each deck linked to those classes. Each decks lists the number of new cards and number of reviews for that day, along with options to see their own statistics and and to download their own copy of the deck.
When they click on the name of a deck, they will begin a study session. They are shown the front of a card from the deck, and a Show Answer button. After clicking on the Show Answer button, they are shown the answer, along with buttons (Again, Hard, Good, Easy) to describe whether and how easily they remembered the answer. When they are done with their daily reviews for a deck, they will have an option to study more new cards (they are prompted for a number).
Students have three links. The Classes link takes them to their main page, the Account link allows them to change their password, and the Logout link logs them out.
